Friends of Blackthorn Charity Shop and Cabin

The Friends of Blackthorn charity shop, orginally on the Tonbridge Road, is now situated in the Blackthorn Gardens.

The charity shop is open Monday to Friday from 10.00am to 2.00pm and is purly run by volunteers. We have 10 volunteers who work 4 hour shifts on different days, as well as 3-5 volunteers who are able to cover holiday or sick leave.

The charity shop is solely stocked by donations received from the general public. The donations stocked within the charity shop include bric-a-brac, linen, small items of furniture, picture frames, toys, books, DVDs, CDs, puzzles, glassware, clothes for women, men and children, handbags and accessories.

All donations are placed into the donation Shed outside the front of the tractor shed.

The charity shop has recently undergone a refurbishment including the installing of new shelves, re-decoration and complete re-stocking with donations.

The Mayor of Maidstone formally re-opened the charity shop on Wednesday 27th January 2016.

The Cabin located in the tractor shed is where all our donations are sorted, cleaned/washed and priced ready to go into the charity shop for sale.

The Cabin is open Monday and Wednesday from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

Every last Wednesday of the month, we hold our Cabin Sale where you can purchase good quality donations prior to them going on sale within the charity shop.
